HOW ALL THINGS GLAM GOT STARTED
While planning my own wedding , I thought finding a Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist was going to be the easiest part of my planning. I have been working as a Professional Makeup Artist/Hair stylist in Los Angeles for 12 plus years. Working mainly in Film and Commercials. My phone contacts ran pretty deep with some of the best makeup artist and hair stylist in Los Angeles. I have worked with A-list celebrities, Grammy Winning Super stars, So I truly thought I was set in ALL THINGS GLAM for my big day. I had envisioned a Production style morning of getting ready with my favorite people by my side. Having makeup and Hair station set up with vanity lights and mirrors as I would have on set. Having a Manicurist there to do any nail adjustments for myself and bridesmaids. A spray tan specialist to cover up any tan lines from day before sun bathing. I basically wanted to be a celebrity or what in my profession we call “talent” for a day.
Boy was I wrong. We did have a destination wedding so that limited my pool of artist available. But while trying to hire a Makeup Artist I discovered that they charge outrages prices and most of the time just the Brides makeup. As a Film Makeup Artist we are hired on a day rate and we are not limited to how many makeup looks we do nor how many hair styles we complete. We are there for a set amount of hours and do what ever needs to be done to make everyone “camera ready”. I was shocked to realize Wedding Makeup Artist were charging upwards of $500 for one Bridal look and then additional $200 and up for each additional person. Most of the time the artist I found available for the wedding were not even trained artist. They were young girls that love makeup products, self taught without a understanding of less is more when it comes to makeup. I wasnt able to find a manicurist capable to do on location manicures. Or a spray tan specialist willing to travel to my location. I even had plans to get a facial the day before and the spa at or hotel was over booked so I could even do that.
Which lead me to creating ALL THINGS GLAM. With ALL THINGS GLAM we provide Production style team of Makeup Artist, Hair Stylist, Mens Grooming, Manicurist, Facials, Spray Tan Specialist. A site that offers Brides easy access to everything she could dream of for her getting ready moments. We offer different packages to fit every Clients budget and needs. Special add ons for Brides that really want to feel like a Oscar winning celebrity. Such as snacks and champagne. We even have a package that includes a boutique style furniture collection to make any empty room a luxurious lounge. Anything a Bride wants to request related to beauty and fashion, We will make it happen with a group of talented and professional Artists.
